# Voice commands

Hold **H**, say it, let go. Start with "dispatch" or not, add "can I get" or "I need" or not: filler is ignored. Request or cancel is decided by the verb, so the two can't be mixed up.

## Units

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| *requesting / send / roll me* + **ambulance · EMS · bus** | Paramedics |
| ... + **transport** | Prisoner transport |
| ... + **tow truck** | A tow for the stop's car, or the nearest one |
| ... + **coroner · fire department · mechanic · road service · animal control · taxi** | That unit |
| *cancel / disregard* + any of those | Cancels it |

Several at once works: *"send me a tow truck and an ambulance"*. Each one uses the nearest verb before it, so *"cancel the tow and the ambulance"* cancels both.

## Checks

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| **plate check · run the plate · ten twenty eight** | Runs the plate of the vehicle you stopped |
| **run plate adam one two three** | Runs a plate you read out (LAPD or NATO alphabet). With no plate and nothing stopped, dispatch says "go ahead with the plate" |
| **name check · run the name · ten twenty nine** | Runs the last person you dealt with |

A plate check reads like a real return: *"Copy, running Adam Boy Charles one two three. Returns to a twenty fifteen black Bravado Buffalo. Be advised, vehicle is reported stolen."* There's one closing line per problem (stolen, BOLO, registration, insurance), or a clean return. Name checks work the same way for a warrant, flags or an invalid licence.

## Pursuits

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| **requesting backup code one / two / three** | Pursuit backup: one, two or three cars |
| **air support · air unit · helicopter** | The helicopter |

## Callouts

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| **accept call out · attach me · en route** | Accepts the offered call |
| **code four · scene is clear** | Completes the call (asks you to confirm) |
| **any calls** | Asks for a callout now |
| **hold my call outs** / **resume call outs** | Turns your offers off or on |
| **where's my call · repeat the address** | Reads back the call's location and distance, and resets your GPS route |

## Status

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| **in service · ten forty one** / **out of service · ten forty two** | On or off duty. It checks your current state, so it never toggles the wrong way |
| **ten eight · ten six · ten ninety seven · on scene** | Sets your status |
| **what's my status · status check · am I in service** | Reads back your status: in or out of service, then in pursuit, on a stop, on a callout, on scene, 10-6, calls on hold, or available |
| **ten ninety nine · officer down** | Panic |

## Around you

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| **hold traffic · stop traffic · close the road** | Stops AI traffic in a 50 m circle around you and marks it on everyone's map. Saying it again moves the hold. It ends after 15 minutes |
| **resume traffic · release traffic · open the road** | Removes your hold |
| **nearest hospital · nearest police station · fire station · impound** | GPS to the closest one: *"Copy, routing you to Pillbox Hill Medical Center."* |
| **nearest unit · who is closest** | The closest on-duty officer by callsign, distance and direction: *"Nearest unit is Three Charles Eleven, half a mile northeast."* |
| **have Two Boy Four meet me** | Dispatch relays it: they hear where you are and get a waypoint to you |
| **time check · what time is it** | *"Time is fourteen thirty hours."* |
| **weather check · road conditions** | *"Rain in the area, roads are wet."* |
| **say again · repeat your last** | Dispatch repeats its last transmission |

## With the MDT

| Say | Does |
|---|---|
| **open the computer** | Opens the MDT |
| **write it up · start a report · start a citation** | Opens the report for your current incident, or your latest draft |

## Small talk

"Thanks", "good morning", "radio check", "how are you", "tell me a joke"... dispatch answers in character. Small talk said alongside a real command is ignored.

## Confirming and mishearing

- If dispatch didn't catch you: *"10-9, say again."*
- When it's not sure: *"Did you mean plate check?"* Answer **affirmative** or **negative**, or just say something else. Commands that fit what you're doing (plate and tow on a stop, code four on a callout) win close calls.
- Commands that need confirming (complete a callout, go off duty) listen only for **affirmative / negative** for 10 seconds.
